How to Survive the Winter (As an Artist)

  • Wild Haare Salon Northrup King Building (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, multicolor leaves, thats right-- it's fall in Minnesota. Summer has officially come to a close and we all have a love/hate relationship with the current season because we know winter is right around the corner.

Driving through the snow, struggling with SAD, and trying not to freeze are some of our least favorite things to deal with and if you're from MN-- you know what we're talking about.

Winter can be especially hard for artists whether you're a performer, writer, or any creative since making a living is already a difficult task without the extra 6 inches of snow.

Luckily we're here to provide you with some tips and connections (and food!) before it gets too cold!

Come join us
at the Wild Hare Salon and Gallery as we provide you with current opportunities for artists in the cities, options for artist housing, and entertainment.

Minnejuku Prep Meeting

United Artist Collaborative releases its new Series: Minnejuku, a fashion fluid event.

With this series, UAC will create an event that honors and educates the history of Harajuku by making a space to display a variety of styles, highlight the youth oriented culture, and most of all, show the power that lies in the ability to wear what *you* want.

This will be the first of several meetings to determine which fashion designers, vendors, and models will be involved in the first Minnejuku. These meetings will be open to the public and to all ages.

All that attend will get a chance to speak with UAC chairman, Michael LaFleur, and give input on what they expect out of Minnejuku.

Unicorn Art Show 4

Once upon a time, there was a magical night when all the princes and princesses of the Twin Cities gathered round to gaze upon the majestic beauty of the Unicorn. One long year has passed since this legendary eve, but the time of the Unicorn has come once again! Over 100 artists have come together in a group exhibition comprising various mediums and expressions in honor of the Great Horned One and now any fantastical creatures they want to create. If you missed the previous Unicorn Art Shows due to duels, quests, or magic curses: this is your opportunity to find renewal of purpose! The Unicorn shares its knowledge with all who seek it with a pure heart!

The spirit of the Unicorn has once more drawn together a group of artists from the magical kingdom of the Twin Cities, who are joined in their tributes by artists and craftspeople from kingdoms far and wide throughout the country. Their magical beasts shall preside over another night of fantastical art, live performances by” Planchette Burns” and “The Preludes to a Blizzard”

Don your best prince or princess attire, or masquerade as any magical creature you desire; enjoy mystical potions at our enchanted beverage station from Twin Spirits as the conjure up magical brews, and get your face painted to ensure your place among the fair folk.
